Ps. Charlie Whitlow
Chancellor
Charlie Whitlow grew up in Loudoun County and became Lead Pastor of Community Church in
2010. He holds a Masters of Divinity from Regent University and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller
Theological Seminary. Pastor Charlie has a vision to inspire and train young people to make an
impact all over the world. Under his leadership, Virginia Academy has grown to fully accredited
elementary, middle and high school program that leads the way in academic and athletic
excellence. With a vision to continue raising up a next generation of leaders

Brian Kirby
Academic Coordinator
Dr. Brian Kirby, originally from North Carolina, earned his undergraduate degrees in French and
Music from Appalachian State University, his Master of Divinity from the Baptist Theological
Seminary in Richmond and his Doctor of Ministry in Theology and the Arts from Wesley
Theological Seminary in Washington DC. His area of passion is contemplative worship and
helping the arts impact who we are and how we see God. He currently serves as the Executive
Director of Programming and Community Church, Ashburn. Brian's an avid snowboarder and
biker when he's not reading Henri Nouwen.

Ps. Mike Taylor
Pastor Mike attended George Mason University, where he majored in Communication and
played basketball. Go Patriots! He earned his Master’s Degree in Education at Regent
University and is currently pursuing his doctorate in strategic leadership there.
Pastor Mike’s passions are family and serving the Lord! He has lived in Lessburg and attended
Community Church for the past 22 years with his wife, Trena and three children, Joseph,
Jessica, & Josiah where he has served the youth and families of Loudoun County in various
roles to include an ordained pastor, executive camp director, (Triple C Ranch Day Camp) and
educational leader. His current roles at Community as executive director of ministry and
president of Virginia Academy enables him to live his passion by equipping people to follow
Christ and become all God wants them to be.
